THE RIGHT SOLUTIONS
We use BioGuard's exclusive ALEX® software for in-depth water analysis, so we can recommend the right time-saving solutions and best remedies for any pool or spa challenge you might have.

Digital Water Testing

How is Bioguard's ALEX® water testing different?

This is where accuracy counts - and we have it! Our tests are fast and much more accurate than a simple dip of a strip. The SmartLab tests for 10 different parameters - way beyond the basics - to understand how they may be influencing each other. This detailed analysis avoids trial and error, saving you time and money.

On top of that, our entire team has been trained and are certified water care experts! We will walk you through everything step-by-step, answering any questions you may have.

The ALEX® results will be tailored to your specific pool or spa, providing you with exact dosage amounts and detailed explanations explaining why. We are here to give you the confidence to handle weekly care, and to help when things get a bit messy.

Why should I test my water?
Water testing is important to achieve and maintain a safer swimmer environment. Water chemistry can be quite complex with all the different factors. For example, low PH creates a very acidic environment - eating away at your pool equipment and can make skin itchy and eyes burn.
How often should I get my water tested?
You should be testing at home with test strips weekly, making adjustments as needed. We suggest coming to see us for a professional ALEX® water sample when you open and before you close your pool, as well as once a month during the season.
What to bring with you for your water sample

- 500ml of pool/spa water in a clean water bottle. No juice, pop or other containers as they can cause incorrect balances on your test.
- Take the sample near a jet in the pool, elbows deep in the water.
- Take photos of any water problems your are having and be sure to discuss it with your water tester when handing over the sample.
- Pool must be circulating for 8 hours minimum before an accurate sample can be taken.

If this is your first sample with us, we will also need information about your pool and/or hot tub.
- Litres of pool or hot tub. If you are unsure, please provide the approximate size of your pool or hot tub and we can assist.
- Sanitizer being used - chlorine, salt, bromnie (take a photo of all equipment and chemicals you have if unsure)
- If you have a salt water pool, take note of the brand of system. (take a photo of the equipment if unsure)
